Chanel has been nominated by her sister…here is her story:
Dear Bishops,
When I saw Your ad on the back of the Portland Mercury I just knew that I had to nominate my sister. When we found out Chanel was pregnant with twins a little over 9 months ago the whole family was more than overjoyed. It was rocky at first, and with her being tiny as it was she got really sick at first, and dropped to about 80 lbs. She recovered, but we later found out her daughter Keauna had a rare heart defect, hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The left side of her heart wasnt developing properly, and she woud need heart surgery shortly after birth. For a while everything went well, then in late January she went into early labor and Keauna and Nycole were born on January 27th 2010. Nycole spent about 2 weeks ng the hospital, but Keauna was in for even longer, she had to get up to weight before they could preform the surgury, or else complications would occur. In mid March she had her surgury and all went well. Once again we felt blessed but on March 23rd Chanel called me and told methey were taking Keauna off life support. Her heart just wasn’t going to make it. On April 3rd we had her memorial and that day I realized my sister was stronger than I think I could have been in that situation. She was able to morn her daughter and take care of the son she still had with no difficulty at all. I just believe she needs something, anything to say thanks for being amazing.

Jennifer has been nominated by her daughter Brooklyn….here is her story:
My name is Brooklyn and I’m nominating my mother Jennifer. I feel like my mom deserves this makeover because in the fourteen years I’ve spent with her I have seen her relax about twice. Every moment of her life seems to be all about us kids. She tries hard to be a great mom and be there for my sisters and I but we all know she is tired and needs a break. Before my 4yr. old and 1yr. old sisters were born it was just me and my mom. She was lively, vivacious…free. Now my mother has devoted her life to her kids and husband and work but she has left no time for herself. I want her to have some “Jenn” time, maybe I can’t give that to her but I hope you guys can. :)

Dear Bishops~
My mom is a single mother of three: one six year old little girl, a six-teen year old (severely) autistic boy, and my 13-year-old self. She has faught MANY battles and seen much strife in her years, yet always comes out on top. I believe that there is not one person more deserving than her for this level of relaxation. not once have i seen her slow down and take time for herself. She truely deserves this. Please choose my mama for this.
Much thanks and thoughts, Austin

Naomi
I would like to nominate my mom…she is a hard worker, and would do anything for her children. She has a very hectic life and deserves a makover. She has had struggles in her life…but I think any mother has. I just think she is a great mother….and to tell you about what she has or hasn’t gone through doesn’t need to be said to make her a winner. She plain and simple is an amazing mother

Nomination #5 Beth
